Helping Pets Move, Play, and Live Better
Recovery takes time, and the right support makes all the difference. At Island Veterinary Hospital, our rehabilitation program combines therapeutic techniques and specialized equipment to improve mobility, reduce pain, and support healing for pets recovering from surgery or managing chronic conditions.
Movement Is Medicine
Physical rehabilitation addresses not only the symptoms of pain and mobility issues but also the underlying causes. A well-designed rehab program can improve strength, restore range of motion, reduce inflammation, and help your pet regain the function and quality of life they deserve.
Our rehabilitation services benefit a wide range of conditions, including recovery from orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, sports injuries, arthritis management, weight-related mobility challenges, and age-related decline. Whether your pet is bouncing back from a surgical procedure or managing a long-term condition, we’ll build a plan around their specific needs and monitor their progress closely throughout.
Therapy laser is a cornerstone of our rehabilitation program, using focused light energy to reduce inflammation, promote tissue repair, and provide non-invasive pain relief. Depending on your pet’s needs, we may also incorporate soft tissue mobilization, therapeutic exercise, joint compressions, massage, and disease-modifying supplements such as omega-3s, glucosamine, and injectable support agents.
We also provide guidance for at-home exercises and care between visits, so you can actively support your pet’s recovery and keep the momentum going outside of the clinic.
